"All of the
guys are very friendly and would answer any questions we had. They all
made sure that things were how we wanted them to be!"
~Joni and Karl Blau
Our remodeling division
of Frey Construction has been extremely busy this summer– we love
taking on different additions or remodels and working with the homeowners
from start to finish. Equally sharing in their excitement to see the
finished product is one of the most rewarding aspects of our job...this
was especially true with Karl and Joni because they are personal friends
of Scott and Jess.
Karl and Joni came to us with big hopes of turning their old farm house
into an entirely new home. (A task we were happy to undertake!) To begin,
we tore off an old front porch. In place of the front porch, we poured
concrete and built a new entry way. This process included tying into
the existing roof, shingling the new area, as well as installing windows
and siding to match the existing house.
After finishing the exterior of
the home, we moved indoors and started gutting everything out of most
of the home. At this point, we started framing in a living room, entry
way, kitchen, and bathroom. Once the framing was completed, we sheet
rocked, mud, taped, painted and trimmed all of the walls.
The next phase of the project included installing new flooring, lighting,
kitchen cabinets, countertops, and appliances for the kitchen. The bathroom
also was completely reorganized with a new tub and shower, vanity, toilet
and fixtures. From start to finish, walking into this house is now like
walking into a completely new home. The old farm house received a complete
make over and with all of the updates that have been done- this turn
of the century structure now has a fresh, new, modern feel while maintaining
the original character of the house.
We hope Karl and Joni, and their daughter Karley enjoy their "new"
home for many years to come.
