Julaine Meyer, Reedsburg, WI - Remodel and Garage

Our next Client of the Month takes us to Reedsburg where we were lucky enough to meet Julaine Meyer. Julaine had seen our trucks and signs around the area and contacted us for an estimate to replace her windows and siding. While in the process of pricing these things out for her, we learned that Julaine had also been tossing around the idea of turning her existing garage into additional living space and building a new garage. So, we started working on plans for these projects as well. We put a lot of time into deciding where to place the new garage on the property and whether or not it should be attached to the house. Julaine decided that building a detached garage would make the most sense for her, as it would fit nicely on her lot and leave a large opening to the backyard, which was important. Once this was figured out, it was time to hammer out the details for the room that would be replacing her old garage – what would it be used for and how it should look from the outside to tie in well with the rest of the house. We came up with the idea of a sun room with large windows and an exterior door, as this would still be the main entrance coming from the garage. Our guys did a great job of trimming out the support beams (which, of course had to stay in place) and opening up the room to the rest of the house with a beautiful archway, a look similar to other areas of the house. The room was finished off with our popular luxury vinyl flooring, which looks very much like genuine hard wood. In addition, we installed new tile in the entryway and bathroom and even put in a new front door accented with artistic glass. Overall, the final project blends everything together seamlessly – Julaine selected a siding color similar to what was there previously, but that is a much better quality, along with updated insulation and more efficient windows. From the road, you’d never know that her garage used to be where the new sunroom is and the new detached garage fits in perfectly!
