Nelson/Pivovar | Bathroom Remodel

Carl Nelson and Sara Pivovar purchased a beautiful older home in a wonderful neighborhood a few years back. They liked the recently re-modeled kitchen, but there were several other updates they wanted to do in order to make the home truly fit their lifestyle and needs. All of the bedrooms are located on the second floor, along with a bathroom, which is great, but it was to small and had no storage! It only had a pedestal sink, which was no longer acceptable, as they now have a youngster running around. Working within the existing layout of the space wasn't really an option if we wanted to increase their storage options. However, on the other side of the bathroom was a guest bedroom where we were able to steal space from a closet. A 42" vanity and 28" tall linen cabinet were recessed into this area. The couple needed to keep a tub in the bathroom for washing kids, but didn't want to settle for a modular unit - they wanted to incorporate a fresh, modern tile look in the space. Mission accomplished - with the new Expanse tub from Kohler, which offers a sleek fun design surrounded by tile on the walls and floor! We also added a hand held shower, for easier cleaning of the tile AND the kids! We know Carl and Sara are happy with their new bathroom, as they've even recommended us to her parents, where we already installed a new shower in their master bath! We're just as excited with the end result, as we recently entered this project for a Contractor of the Year award through NARI!
